Here is just a taste of some of the literature produced
for the Volkswagen market
by Speedwell in the 1960s. It is not as glossy as the EMPI material but
is still fun.

Speedwell produced this regular newsletter for its dealers,
giving info on the latest
prodcuts and special deals. This issue, dated November 1965, introduces
the tie-up
bewteen EMPI in the USA and Speedwell in London. Yes, that's a photo of
Joe Vittone
and the Riverside headquarters of EMPI. Check all those GTVs lined up!

Note changing logos used on newsletters over the months.

On the left, the issue which broke the news about the new
BRM wheel
and on the right is a story about Dean Lowry driving Inch Pincher. At this
time,
very few Europeans knew what was going on in the USA.

This is a reprint of a roadtest in Britain's "Autocar"
magazine which featured
the Speedwell 1350cc Beetle. This reprint was given out at shows by Speedwell.

For something a little different, this is one of the earliest
Speedwell brochures I can find.
It dates back to about 1960 and shows the Speedwell Streamliner - a much-modified
Austin-Healey Sprite used for record breaking and driven, on occasion
by famous racing driver, Stirling Moss.

These are two of the smaller brochures I have which are
dedicated to the
Volkswagen parts range. I have three different ones in my collection.
Hey, wanna buy some BRM wheels?
